Microdermabrasion

Microdermabrasion Treatment 30 to 45mins £55
Course of 5 treatments for the price of 4 £220

If you suffered from acne at any stage in your life, you know how hard it can be to find an effective, permanent treatment for acne skin care. Many acne skin care products are simply a temporary cosmetic answer.

Cosmetic surgery (including subcision or undermining acne scars) for acne scars or even chemical peels for acne scars may be an answer but both treatments are very drastic and invasive.

Microdermabrasion is an intensive, non-invasive treatment for the face to combat problem areas such as acne scars, pigmentation problems, sun damage, wrinkles etc at the same time as proving to be a highly effective antiaging skin care treatment. It is especially effective for lip wrinkles and fine lines.

What is Microdermabrasion?
Microdermabrasion is a system of intense exfoliation and resurfacing using ultra fine crystals that rejuvenate the skin. The crystals work as a gentle abrasive on the skin to remove dead skin cells layer by layer.

The vacuum action of the machine stimulates the circulation and promotes increased blood flow to the area. The production of collagen and elastin is stimulated, which results in a firmer, more youthful looking skin.

Why Microdermabrasion?

Immediate results, straight back to work, and radiant skin!

What are the benefits of using Microdermabrasion over other methods of treatment?

There is minimal discomfort experienced during a microdermabrasion treatment and the patient is able to carry on with their normal day afterwards. Crystal microdermabrasion uses a completely inert and sterile compound with zero risk of allergic reaction.

F.A.Q's

Is microdermabrasion safe for all skin types?
Yes, microdermabrasion can be used for all skin types on all areas of the body and face. This is not as aggressive as a chemical peel or dermabrasion.

What causes acne scars?
Acne scars are generally caused by an inflamed "spot" when the follicle or pore swells as a result of excess sebum or oil. The follicle wall may break deep into the wall destroying healthy skin tissue and causing scarring.

Are there any home remedies I could try?
Some claim that lemon juice applied to the area helps to lighten darker spots but I don't know of any home remedies which would remove the scarring effectively.

How quickly will my client see results?
They will see results immediately and with each subsequent treatment their skin will continue to look progressively better.

How many treatments should clients have?
We recommend a course of 5, people with acne or acne scarring might need more treatments and we recommend a monthly maintenance treatment after the course has finished to help maintain the results achieved.

How often should clients have a treatment?
Treatments are usually performed every 7 to 10 days.

Are there any side effects to the treatment?
After the treatment, the skin may feel tight with mild redness. Therefore it is important that clients
use a good moisturiser. These effects normally subside within 24 hours of treatment

How should I take care of my skin during treatments?
Keep your skin care routine simple! Avoid antiaging products which contain active vitamin A or retinol as these may irritate the surface layer of the skin during treatment. Your skin may be a little sensitive so we recommend using Decleor's Harmonie or Hydrafloral range of moisturisers which are delicately balanced to protect but not upset the skin.

The microdermabrasion machine then gently but effectively exfoliates the skin in small sections at a time, lifting the skin's surface and stimulating the sub-dermis to improve circulation. This is a very deep exfoliation, designed to really work at removing dead skin cells which may clog the skin and attract bacteria.
